The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution that will accelerate the return to economic use of agricultural lands that are actually being cultivated but have the legal status of "potentially contaminated." This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine. If local authorities find that a plot considered contaminated is actually being used for its intended purpose (cultivated), tax benefits for its owner or tenant will be revoked. Local authorities will provide data on the actual use of lands to the Center for Humanitarian Demining and the Center for Counter-Mine Action. Based on the information received, specialists will conduct a non-technical survey to officially confirm the safety of the plot and legally remove the "contaminated" status.
