Ukrainian cheese producers remained under pressure from a difficult market situation in the first month of the current year, reports "InfAGRO." As at the end of last year, in January, manufacturers operated in conditions of heightened competition from cheaper European products. Some companies tried to maintain sales through active promotions and price reductions, while others decided not to resume production after its reduction at the end of the year. The market is beginning to show signs of leveling off. Cheese imports have increased, but the growth has been significantly more restrained than previously expected. Prices for dairy raw materials have decreased, which has positively impacted the cost of production and allowed for more active use of price incentives to support demand. The threat of further import growth remains, but currently appears less acute. The weakening of the euro does not favor importers, and prices for cheese in the EU countries have stopped falling. ...
