In Ukraine, there may be fraud with caviar ahead of the holidays

Ahead of the New Year holidays, Ukrainians may be offered caviar at very attractive prices, which in reality is not genuine. This was told to Ukrainian Radio by the general director of the Association of Ukrainian Fish and Seafood Importers, Dmytro Zahumennyi. "There are unscrupulous sellers who try to deceive the consumer and offer imitation caviar or a counterfeit under the guise of real caviar. There are various methods of its production, they even occasionally seem to try to improve them, but it is not caviar in its characteristics," warned Zahumennyi. The main advice given by the expert when choosing red caviar for the holidays is not to chase after very low prices. "Unfortunately, this product has always been relatively expensive. And it does not become cheaper. That is, one must understand that a truly genuine product will be noticeable, but it will be real, useful caviar," explains Zahumennyi.
