The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of South Korea has initiated the sale of fresh agricultural products like strawberries, tangerines, grapes, and cherry tomatoes at the duty-free shop in Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport, in collaboration with Shinsegae Duty Free. This move is a part of the ministry's strategy to promote Korean agricultural products, which has seen sales rise from 600 million won in the first year to 1.3 billion won this year. Initially, these fresh products will be available only for customers departing from Hong Kong and Singapore due to plant quarantine restrictions. The ministry intends to expand the list of target countries and products, depending on the plant quarantine settlement, the shipment period for fresh agricultural products, and the domestic supply and demand.
