In 2020, Turkey's Southeastern Anatolian region exported 7.6 million dollars worth of chili peppers to 107 countries, with a 46% increase from the first half of the year. Germany was the top buyer, followed by the Netherlands and England. The local name for the chili pepper, 'isot', is becoming popular for its unique taste, with demand both in Turkey and abroad, according to the Şanlıurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly President, İsa Kızıldemir.
