The Indian Institute of Horticulture and Research (IIHR) has successfully bred and released two new sweet pomelo varieties, Arka Chandra and Arka Anantha. These medium-sized dwarf trees are suitable for cultivation across the country and require a planting distance of 5x5 m. They are known to respond well to fertilizer application and produce generously in two seasons. A tree that has been established for four years can yield between 80-100 fruits per year.
