India will impose a 30% import tariff on yellow peas starting from November 1.

The tax authorities issued a notice stating that if the bill of lading is issued on or after November 1, 2025, imported yellow peas will be subject to a standard duty rate of 10% and an Agricultural Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) of 20%. The government had previously allowed duty-free imports of yellow peas until March 2026 in May, but this new regulation will have a significant impact on future imports of yellow peas.
