India’s pulses imports rose to 453,000 tons in September

India imported 453,000 tons of pulses in September, the highest September total since 2017. This brings total imports for 2024 to 4.66 million tons, the second highest for any calendar year. As shown in the second chart, Myanmar was the leading supplier in September, supplying 107 thousand tons, followed by Mozambique with 81.38 thousand tons. Australia supplied 56 thousand tons, while Tanzania and Canada supplied 44.98 thousand tons and 42.11 thousand tons, respectively.
