Industrial almond cultivation has started in Ukraine

Due to the new climate conditions, almonds have become widespread in Ukraine. At present, it has started to be grown not only not only in the south of Bessarabia, but also in Zakarpattia, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions. This was reported by agronews.ua. Two years ago, an industrial almond orchard was laid out in the Kyiv region on an area of 105 hectares. Next year it will bear the first fruits, and in 2 years stable production will begin. Specialists from Italy helped to establish industrial production of almonds. Also last year, the Ukrainian Nut Association launched a new program for the development of industrial almond cultivation in the southern regions of Ukraine. It is headed by the head of the Odessa regional branch of the Ukrainian Nut Association, Vasyl Babansky. The new program will use the progressive varieties and experience of Moldova and Crimea.
