The Lviv region in Ukraine saw a 5.5% increase in agricultural production in January 2021 compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Department of Agroindustrial Development. This was largely due to a 11% increase in production by agricultural enterprises, despite a 3% decrease in production by households. The increase was largely driven by a 22.7% increase in meat production and a 13.2% increase in farm animal raising, with the poultry population increasing by 7.0% and the pig population increasing by 13.9%. The region ranks 4th in terms of the rate of gross agricultural production and 9th in terms of volumes.
