Chile recognizes the designation of origin of the type of blue cheese as 100% Italian

The National Institute of Industrial Property (Inapi) highlighted that Chile recognized the designation of origin of Gorgonzola cheese (a type of blue cheese) as 100% Italian. "Consorzio per la tutela del formaggio Gorgonzola" is the name of the group that became the holder of the registry that grants the denomination of origin to this traditional product produced in Italy. The recognition was delivered by the national director of Inapi, Loreto Bresky, to the Villaseca Abogados law firm, as representatives of the consortium. The activity took place at the Italian Embassy in Chile. The lawyer who led the case, Francisco Valverde, released details of the case that began in 2018 when the group that brings together the Italian producers of this traditional product requested the designation of origin in our country.
