In December, Mozambique experienced a monthly inflation rate of 1.52%, with the Food and non-alcoholic drinks division driving the increase by 1.22%. Price increases were seen in tomatoes, coconut, live chicken, beer, meals in restaurants, frozen chicken, and kale, while gasoline, women's dresses, horse mackerel, lemon, diesel, chairs, and cigarettes saw price decreases. Despite some months in 2020 showing a decrease in inflation, the country still saw an annual increase of 3.52% with the food and non-alcoholic beverages division contributing the most to the overall price increase. The cities of Nampula, Beira, and Maputo also experienced varying rates of inflation, with Nampula having the highest accumulated increase at approximately 4.28%.
