International milk prices increase by 4.6%

The average price across all products and periods at Global Dairy Trade this week rose 4.6% to $4,463/t. The Global Dairy Trade Price Index rose 64 points to 1,397 points. Prices increased for whole milk powder (+5.6% to $4,082/t), butter (+5.0% to $6,158/t), skimmed milk powder (+5.0% to $3,963/t), Cheddar (+1.1% to $5,546/t) and Anhydrous Milkfat (+0.6% to $6,720/t). Prices are not available for sweet whey powder and lactose. Buttermilk powder was not negotiated. At 30,644 t, the traded quantity was just below the level of the previous auction (30,685 t).
