International partnership drives research with plant extracts in the fight against citrus cancer

Last week, Fundecitrus received a visit from researcher Dirk Jan Scheffers from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, accompanied by his doctoral student Terezija Jovanovski, as well as professors Henrique Ferreira and Michel Brienzo from Unesp Rio Claro. The meeting marked another stage of the partnership between the institutions, aimed at developing formulations based on plant extracts to combat citrus canker. In this phase, led by Fundecitrus, the work includes field experiments. The delegation visited the headquarters of Fundecitrus, in the company of researchers Franklin Behlau and Eduardo Gorayeb and post-doctoral fellow Beatriz Pecoraro Sanches, and the experimental field in Votuporanga (SP).
