Investigating the dumping of Egyptian canned tomatoes in Moroccan markets

The Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade opened an investigation into the dumping of Egyptian canned tomatoes in national markets, after receiving a complaint from the National Federation of Food Industries. The Ministry decided to open an anti-dumping investigation in accordance with the provisions of Law 15.09 related to commercial protection measures. The investigation includes collecting and checking information and data necessary to determine the existence, degree and effects of dumping on the status of the national production sector of canned tomatoes. According to the public declaration published by the ministry, the federation submitted, on behalf of three Moroccan companies representing 96 percent of the national production of canned tomatoes, an application aimed at applying an anti-dumping measure to Egyptian canned tomato imports.
