A virtual seminar titled "Evidence-Based Policies in Competitive Feed" was conducted by the Center for Food Agriculture & Advocacy, Indonesian Academy of Sciences, and IPB University, focusing on the challenges and the importance of providing quality and competitive feed in the livestock industry. The seminar underscored the need for formulating systemic feed development, consolidation among breeders, and supporting local feed ingredients. The feed industry faces challenges such as high taxation on imported feed ingredients and the lack of local alternatives. The seminar also pointed out the need for land expansion for feed ingredient production, industrialization of soybeans, and improvements in logistics and standardization of feed material transportation.
