The Chamshir Dam came on line on Monday in an inauguration ceremony attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and senior members of his Cabinet.Chamshir, located in the province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, is the fifth largest dam in Iran with a 50-square-kilometer reservoir that can hold up to 2.3 billion cubic meters of water when it is full.The dam is also the tallest roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dam in the Western Asia region with a crest that is 680 meters high.
