A recent meeting between Qatar's Finance Minister, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, and Iran's Ambassador to Doha, Hamidreza Dehghani, resulted in a significant agreement aimed at strengthening the trade relations between their countries. This encounter, marked by the presence of key officials and businesspeople from both nations, saw Qatar expressing its support for Iran and proposing collaboration in saffron processing to international standards. In response, the Iranian ambassador advocated for the enhancement of Tehran-Doha economic ties. The meeting concluded with the finalization of a substantial commercial contract worth $300 million for the transfer and processing of 200 tons of Iranian saffron, with the first shipment scheduled for October 1, 2022. This development underscores the growing economic engagement between Qatar and Iran, marking a milestone in their bilateral trade relations.
