(Agraria.pe) In a strategic move that consolidates its leadership in the international fruit sector, Unifrutti Group has announced the acquisition of 100% of Safco —composed of Global Agro Perú and Safco Perú— from Rio King and other minority shareholders. Safco is responsible for managing approximately 560 hectares of grape crops and has two modern packaging centers in Ica, one of the most important wine-growing regions in Peru. The company stands out for its supply of premium table grapes to major retailers in the United States, with a particular focus on exclusive varieties such as Cotton Candy™, Sweet Globe, and Autumn Crisp. Thanks to the integration of Safco, Unifrutti will be able to continuously supply its U.S. customers during the period from September to June, relying on farms located in Piura and Ica (Peru), Copiapó (northern Chile), and extending the supply through central Chile.
