The Association of Fruit and Vegetable Traders in Tehran is planning to export over two million tons of fruit in the current calendar year. The total production is expected to be 4.5 million tons, of which 2.5 million tons will be sold domestically and the remaining 2 million tons will be exported to countries such as Russia, Iraq, Armenia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The value of Iranian fresh produce exports increased by 9% in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year compared to the same period the previous year. The main agricultural products exported included tomatoes, pistachios, watermelons, tomato paste, cheese, apples, melons, dates, and confectionery, with the main export markets being Iraq, China, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
