The price of chicken in Tehran has increased to over 90,000 tomans per kilo, and poultry industry activists attribute this to various reasons such as increased production costs and delayed supply of inputs like poultry feed. There are concerns about the timely supply of inputs, as chicken farmers are forced to buy feed and one-day-old chicks at higher prices than the government-approved rates, impacting the cost of production. The Deputy Minister of Jihad Agriculture has promised an increase in chicken production which, if implemented, could lead to a decrease in chicken prices in the coming weeks and months.
