IJHARS now oversees the retail trade and online stores, ensuring compliance with food safety, labeling, and GMO labeling. The 2020 inspections revealed issues with organoleptic and physicochemical characteristics of food, labeling inconsistencies, and quality problems with fresh produce and potatoes. Preliminary inspections in the first quarter of 2021 identified issues with the organoleptic characteristics, physicochemical parameters, and labeling of agricultural products, noting a decrease in non-compliance errors from the previous year.
