A study conducted by a team from National Taiwan University and Academia Sinica aims to understand the impact of clouds and fog on the flavor of high mountain tea in the Alishan tea area. The research also plans to design fog-catching nets to collect mist water for tea plantations as the distribution of tea gardens is facing challenges due to climate change. The team will also establish a high-density meteorological monitoring network and conduct biodiversity monitoring. The Central Meteorological Bureau’s Alishan weather station has been found to lack cloud and fog records, and the team will incorporate meteorological simulation data and establish cloud-related parameters.
