Israel and Germany import 70% of Ukrainian sugar

The article, originating from the press service of the Scientific and Practical Center for Sugar Beet Production, provides an analysis of Ukraine's sugar trade performances from January to July 2021. It highlights the dominant role of Israel, Germany, and Moldova as importers of Ukrainian sugar, accounting for 41.3%, 29.2%, and 15.5% of total exports revenue respectively. Conversely, Brazil, Poland, and Belgium were the primary suppliers of sugar to Ukraine, contributing 69.6%, 19.6%, and 3.1% to the country's sugar imports revenue. Furthermore, the article notes that Ukraine exported and imported significant quantities of other sugars and molasses, with Israel being a notable recipient of molasses imports. Additionally, a financial penalty of 68 million hryvnias has been imposed on Radekhiv Sugar for illegally acquiring a plant without the necessary authorization from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU).
