Israeli agricultural technology and production companies are looking to engage in the local rice value chain in Ghana. The head of the Economic and Trade Mission at the Israeli embassy in Accra, Yaniv Tessel, stated that these companies are interested in rice production technologies and joint ventures for rice cultivation. This comes at a time when Ghana is unable to meet its rice consumption needs. The Israel Economic and Trade Mission organized a conference to introduce Israeli technological solutions to Ghanaian stakeholders, with the goal of improving food security and achieving the United Nations Development Sustainability Goals.
