Despite high yields and excellent quality this year, potato growers in Germany are not worth harvesting their tubers due to low purchasing prices. EU farmers are increasingly struggling. European Union farmers are currently going through difficult times. In some places, drought and even forest and brush fires following summer heat are causing problems, while in others, extreme amounts of precipitation at the wrong time make work impossible. We have not even mentioned the collapse in purchasing prices, which is turning more and more producers away from agriculture.
