It depends on China, says Alckmin about the resumption of meat exports from Brazil

The vice-president and minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, said that the resumption of Brazilian meat exports depends only on China. “It has been proven that it is an atypical case. We are waiting, it is a matter of days for it to be released [the export]”, he said. This Monday (13th), Alckmin participated in an event organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, ApexBrasil, in São Paulo. The case of mad cow was registered on February 20, in Pará. After an investigation, the World Organization for Animal Health said that the case is atypical and the result of spontaneous generation and that there is no risk of spread in humans and livestock. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock suspended the export of Brazilian meat to China three days later.
