Chihuahua state is a leader in agricultural production and contributes nearly 40% of Mexico's cattle exports, according to the state's Secretary of Rural Development, René Almeida. The state's agricultural production is valued at around 70 billion pesos annually, making it the first in the production of 10 agricultural products and the second in the production of several other products. The state is also growing in meat and milk production, with Chihuahuan meat brands expanding into international markets. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is implementing a program to support certified bean seed for planting in the state, along with a program to offer seed for forage crops, and is also planning a support program for small livestock.
