The period from September 2021 until now is the most opportune time for pepper farmers, according to market experts. A six-foot-round pepper plantation can hold over 900 pepper plants per acre. If systematically maintained and cultivated for four years, such a pepper farm can earn over 100 lakhs at the current market price. The profit is due to rising prices caused by high import costs and local stock use. Aung San Oo, administrator of KKO-Pepper, notes that farmers who balance market demand and wait for good market times are making a profit. Pepper has a strong domestic and international market, but few in Myanmar engage in its commercial cultivation.
