The Dulcis kiwifruit, a green-fleshed variety with the quality of a yellow-fleshed kiwi, has been introduced by Forlì New Plant in collaboration with the University of Udine and the University of Bologna. The fruit, which is suitable for warm climate cultivation, debuted at the Fruit Logistica in Berlin and is expected to be commercialized in the 2023/24 production season. The majority of its market will be in Europe. The Dulcis kiwifruit has shown promising market prospects, with its planting scale rapidly expanding in Italy and output expected to reach 9,425 tons by 2027. Consumer tests in Italy have shown a high preference for this variety.
