Jan-Oct 2023: Volume of Chilean cherries reaches 302,842 tons equivalent to US$ 1.821 billion FOB

The cherry continues as one of the main Chilean fruits exported, according to the latest bulletin from the Office of Agrarian Studies and Policies (Odepa), the cherry recorded a volume of 302,842 tons in the period January-October 2023, equivalent to US$ 1,821 million FOB , which represented 37.6% of the total value of fresh fruit exports in the analysis period. Within what was recorded, there was an increase of 6.1% in volume and 21.9% in value in shipments of this fruit, compared to the same period in 2022. The main destination was China, where 91.1% of the total value of Chilean cherry exports were sent to that country. Table grapes are next in importance, with 495,308 tons equivalent to US$ 892.7 million FOB, which represented 18.4% of the total value of fresh fruit exports.
