Despite an embargo by Belarus, which has been in place since December 2021, overall dessert apple exports in January 2023 increased by 13% compared to the same period last year. However, this is still 3,000 tons less than two years ago. The loss in exports to Egypt was significant, with a decrease of 48%, while exports to India saw a major increase of 233%. There was also a notable export of 21 tons of apples to China. The trend of exporting to more countries continues, with the number of markets increasing from 21 to 27 compared to the previous season.
