Japan has decided to send specialists to assess the situation of Brazilian cattle, marking the first step towards potentially opening the market to Brazilian meat. This move is in line with the main objective of President Lula's state visit to Japan. The Japanese government has already sent a questionnaire to the Brazilian government regarding the health situation of Brazilian cattle. This is part of the efforts to reinstate Brazilian beef as a major consumer market, currently dominated by imports from the United States and Australia. Additionally, a new protocol has been implemented to allow regionalization of avian influenza by municipality, ensuring no interruption in purchases due to isolated cases of the disease.
