JBS, the leading global Brazilian food company, will invest US$ 70 million over the next two years in chicken production in Paraguay. The announcement was made this Thursday, 2, during the visit of Paraguayan President Santiago Peña to the Seara unit in Dourados (MS). The company's investment in the country will be made in phases, JBS informed in a statement. The first phase began with the acquisition of Pollos Amanecer, a local chicken brand that operates a factory in the district of Doctor Juan Eulogio Estigarribia, also known as Campo 9, in the department of Caaguazú. Located in one of the largest agricultural regions of Paraguay, the unit has easy access to grains and is within 200 kilometers of the country's three largest cities: the capital Asunción, Ciudad del Este (on the border with Brazil and Argentina), and Luque.
