Jeju City in South Korea is set to support tangerine export producer groups by providing up to KRW 1,000 per box for export packaging, totaling KRW 100 million. This initiative aims to offset the cost of maintaining quality during long-distance distribution and encourage more farm participation in tangerine exports. The support will be limited to groups with a minimum investment of KRW 100 million and who have contracted with overseas markets for tangerines grown in the Jeju City area. The city hopes this project will reduce logistics costs, increase tangerine export participation, stabilize domestic supply and demand, and boost farm income.
