The Jeollanam-do Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Science has launched an on-site counseling center to support fishermen in Goheung with seaweed production. The center, located at three sites, provides microscopic verification of seaweed health, aquaculture technology training, and individual results. The institute aims to stabilize seaweed production, which accounts for 25% of domestic aquatic food exports, and address challenges in the aquaculture sector. The institute also plans to support seaweed farmers by forecasting seedling seasons, providing water temperature information, analyzing nutrients, and monitoring fishing grounds.
