[Reporter Kang-san from the Korea Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] Jeonnam Province is expanding dormitory construction and lodging renovation support to enhance the residential stability and human rights protection of foreign seasonal workers. Jeonnam Province is pushing forward a project to construct and renovate 15 foreign seasonal worker lodgings by this year. Among these, four cities and counties, including Damyang, Haenam, Yeongam, and Muan, have dormitories operating through the "Agricultural Worker Dormitory Construction Project" of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 2022, and the province itself is additionally supporting 11 locations. Next year, Jeonnam Province will invest 3.5 billion won in a new dormitory in Jindo County through a national budget bidding project of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and will additionally support two locations with its own budget.
