Kazakhstan is intensifying its fight against land degradation by placing soil conservation at the core of its climate and agricultural strategy, according to Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS. As part of a nationwide approach to land monitoring, the country has established a unified soil service. Authorities have already updated soil data across 53.5 million hectares using digital mapping systems. Vice-Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mansur Oshurbayev stated that land use is becoming a critical tool for climate adaptation. He noted that the country’s updated policy prioritizes soil-protection technologies, the expansion of regenerative agricultural methods, and more efficient water resource management.
