The Kazakh authorities have established the Kazakh Research Institute of Horse Breeding and Forage Production in Aktobe, with the aim of enhancing horse breeding and increasing horse population. The institute will conduct research to improve breeding qualities of horses, promote domestic breeds internationally, and train horse breeders. The initial goal is to grow the breeding horse population by 6-7% over the next five years. The institute will also expand breeding areas for local horse breeds and create a genetic information database. It plans to boost the productivity of bred breeds by 20-25% by 2035 through selection, technological methods, and collaboration with foreign research centers.
