In January, Kazakhstan saw a 2.3% increase in bread production, totaling 42.5 thousand tons, with the Turkestan region leading in production. However, overall production from January-December decreased by 1.6% to 518.6 thousand tons. While wheat bread production remained stable, there was an increase in the production of rye bread, dietary bread, and bakery products. Bread prices also rose by 19.2% in January, with the most significant increase in the Ulytau region. As of February 24, 2023, Kazakhstan's bread price was the third lowest among CIS countries and the fifth lowest globally, with the USA, Switzerland, and Iceland having the highest bread prices.
