By comparison, the export volume for the same period last year was 1.8 million tons. This growth indicates that Kazakhstan's grain exports are maintaining a steady upward trend.
In terms of major export destinations, grain exports to Uzbekistan increased by 42%, from 738,000 tons to 1,049,000 tons; exports to Kyrgyzstan increased 2.6 times, from 24,000 tons to 64,000 tons; exports to Azerbaijan increased 3.1 times, from 18,000 tons to 56,000 tons; exports to Afghanistan increased by 42.5%, from 73,000 tons to 104,000 tons; and exports to Turkmenistan increased 2.3 times, from 3,000 tons to 7,000 tons.
The data shows that Kazakhstan's position in the global grain market is further solidifying, while also demonstrating a steady increase in the competitiveness of its agricultural products.
According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Azhat Sultanov, who spoke to reporters at the Majilis (lower house of parliament) on October 29, the grain harvest this year is abundant, and storage facilities are fully capable of meeting demand.
