Kazakhstan exported 5.3 million tons of grain from the 2024 harvest

Since the start of the 2024/25 grain transport season in September, JSC NC KTZ has reported significant activity, with a total of 6.7 million tons transported by mid-February, which includes 1.4 million tons for domestic use and a notable 5.3 million tons for export, marking a 48.3% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The primary destinations for these exported grains include Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China, Afghanistan, Iran, and Azerbaijan, with Uzbekistan alone receiving 2 million tons, a 34.9% increase from the last year.

Furthermore, the operational data also highlights the transportation of 3.2 million tons of flour by the end of 2024, with 817 thousand tons staying within Kazakhstan and the remainder, 2.4 million tons, being exported, showing a 3% increase compared to the last year. The first two months of the year have been particularly productive, with 352 thousand tons of flour transported, including 238 thousand tons for export, marking a 9.6% increase from the same period last year.

This surge in grain and flour transportation reflects the dynamic nature of Kazakhstan's agricultural trade, with a notable growth in exports to various countries, positioning the nation as a significant player in the regional market.
