Kazakhstan harvests more than 1 mln tons of pulses for the first time in history

More than half of this volume (54%) is third-class wheat. Kazakhstan has reached a historical record, harvesting more than 1 million tons of pulses in 2025, exceeding the forecasts of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan for early October (0.97 million tons, of which 800 thousand tons of lentils and 155 thousand tons of peas, 15 thousand tons of other pulses) thanks to favorable weather conditions and a 2.1-fold expansion of the sown area over the past three years. The occupancy rate of licensed grain storage facilities remains stable: 5.4 million tons (40% of capacity) are currently full, and 7.8 million tons remain free. This allows for efficient harvest acceptance without overloading elevators. However, the regions have faced a shortage of gas for drying grain. Vice Prime Minister Seryk Zhumangaryn instructed the Ministry of Energy to urgently provide additional gas volumes to avoid delays in harvest acceptance.
