Kazakhstan will reduce the sowing area of rice and cotton

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the akimats of the Almaty, Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions, will work out the issue of a gradual reduction in the area under crops of moisture-loving crops - rice and cotton. This order was given by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin following the government meeting, the government press service reported on October 5. As noted in the message, this work will be included in a set of measures to fulfill the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to expand the area of irrigated land by 2025 to 2.2 million hectares, and by 2030 - to 3 million hectares.
