Kenya exports 2,000 kg passion fruit to European market every month

Kenya last year harvested horticultural crops worth Sh13.6 billion (105 million euros), an increase from Sh8.6 billion (66.4 million euros) in the previous season, as more growers invest in the horticultural sector. Growers in Uasin Gishu County earned more than Sh2.6 million (over $20,000) from more than 48,000 tons of passion fruit grown on approximately 360 acres. In Nandi County, an average of 7,000 kg of passion fruit is harvested each month during the season, destined for regional and export markets.
