Kenya has imported 21,455 metric tonnes of white maize, 27,998 metric tonnes of wheat, and 22,820 metric tonnes of sorghum from countries including Mozambique, Canada, and the US, in an effort to relieve the rising cost of living for its citizens. The grains, which arrived at the port of Mombasa, will be used to help offset the high prices of maize and wheat due to market shortage. The Kenya Ports Authority kept the details of the importers confidential.
