The Korea Fisheries Trade Association is strengthening the sustainability and globalization of the world's leading seaweed industry. With the enactment of the 'Act on Fostering and Supporting the Seaweed Industry' on December 22, 2021, the industry expects to increase exports, currently at about $700 million annually, to $1.3 trillion. The success of the 29th Korea Seaweed Bidding and Consultation in Japan, where export contracts worth 105 billion won were signed, marks a significant achievement in globalization. The increase in contract volume and dried seaweed compared to the previous year highlights the quality control measures implemented by the Korea Fisheries Trade Association, attracting Japanese buyers.
