[Korea Farmers' News Agency, Reporter Lee Jang-hee] "Gimpo Gold Rice," the representative agricultural specialty product of Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province, is making its debut in the European and Central Asian markets. Gimpo City and the Sin-Gimpo Agricultural Cooperative announced that 47 tons of Gimpo Gold Rice (variety Chamdreum) from the 2025 harvest will be exported to Europe and Kazakhstan in two shipments during December. Since being selected as the K-RICE cooperative rice export brand by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation in 2015, Gimpo Gold Rice has been exported, starting with Taiwan. In 2023, following the inauguration of the 8th civilian government, it also entered the U.S. market, and earlier this year, discussions were held for entry into the Japanese market, which has been experiencing rice supply shortages.
