The Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology (KIOST) has formed a consultative body to support the modernization of the Busan Central Fisheries Market and has begun discussions on innovation in the distribution of marine products. KIOST announced that it held the first meeting of the ‘Digital and Distribution Innovation Consultative Body’ for the modernization and operational support of the Busan Central Fisheries Market on the 3rd. The Busan Central Fisheries Market is a key hub for the distribution of domestic marine products, and beyond the renovation and maintenance of facilities, modernization projects including the introduction of electronic auctions and the advancement of logistics, hygiene, and safety systems are being pursued. Accordingly, the need for cooperation among stakeholders and system improvements is increasing. This consultative body comprises Busan City, the Central Fisheries Market, KIOST, academia, and the fisheries industry.
