[Rural Development Administration Newspaper=Reporter Park Se-jun] The Korea Rural Community Corporation, the Ministry of Climate Change and Energy, the Korea Water Resources Corporation, and the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power have joined forces for the clean and safe management of Saemangeum Lake and the production of eco-friendly energy. The Rural Development Administration, the Ministry of Environment, the Water Resources Corporation, and the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power signed a 'Basic Plan Service Comprehensive Contract Agreement' at the Government Complex in Sejong on the 22nd to successfully push forward the 'Saemangeum Water Gate Expansion and Tidal Power Generation Project' and to establish a close cooperative framework. This agreement involves the joint expansion of the Saemangeum Lake water gate by the relevant agencies to improve water quality and ensure flood control stability, and at the same time to produce renewable energy utilizing the difference in water levels between the sea and the lake through tidal power generation.
